Ok I admit I mention this before that I will buy anything during this IT Show but then the deal is just too good for me to give it a miss! As topic mention I bought a S$1k notebook from Acer and it is really a hell good deal.
Limited to only the first 50 sets I manage to get it on the first day of the IT Show (yup made my way down on Thursday after work). Basically I bought a AMD (Dual Core) based notebook, 3GB of Ram, nVidia 8000 with 256MB (burst to 768MB), 160GB HardDrive and a 14.1 inch widescreen display. The above general specs for just S$1k plus some goodies like wireless mouse and a 4GB ScanDisk Thumbdrive.
But one thing which I dun really like is the crowd... As usual I kena "human jam"when moving from City Hall to Suntec and when reach Suntec another sea of human crashing with one another. In fact this time round I had a particular bad experience cos when I was queuing to pay for my purchase there was this guy in front of me who bought a Trend Micro Internet Security Software at S$64 and seriously I not too sure if it was becos he think that his S$64 is very big or that he trying to catch up with the girls at the cashier, he keep talking and talking and when the cashier girl ask him to sign his purchase he like drag the entire process for a good 5 minutes saying things like "why must sign 2 papers", "see you want to hide my gift" and Ï going to buy somemore got so must give me a bigger discount". I was just behind him and I was like kicking this guy right in his groin for wasting so much of other people time. Only buying a S$64 thing like must ask for so much thing and me paying for S$1k laptop must wait for so long...
In the end I just walk to the cashier girl and say I making a purchase for a laptop and if it is more important to serve some guy buying only a piece of software let me know cos I can also buy one just to make sure I get my turn to make my payment and get out of the Suntec cos precious time is wasted while waiting. In term of time to money, spending so much time just to entertain a guy who only buy one piece of software while so many people behind the queue spending more money I think any one can do a simple math in knowing which is more important.
That guy kept quiet signed his purchase and wait quietly (need to wait cos now the cashier girls were processing mine and the lady behind me purchases) for this one piece of software to be packed. While the person in charge of the booth came over to enquiry why was I still in the queue waiting to make payment and keep saying sorry for the long wait. For me I just tell him what happen and things should be improve cos not everyone will wait especially in a fair like this cos good deals can be found almost everywhere.
I not too sure if other people behind me felt the same but I really pissed with that guy. In IT Show so many pretty girls around can slowly take his own sweet time to chat up with the promoters why must waste other people time. As many of you guys will know the promoters are more approachable than cashier girls so why waste time there...
Anyway made my payment, collect my laptop decided to take a cab home but change my mind due to the freaking long queue. Waited for my bus (which is super packed of cos) before reaching home and unpack the new machine. ATA (Actual Time Arrival) home was 11pm spend the next 2 hours setting up stuff before KOing for the next day.

If it were a lady saying the same thing, that guy would have said something to insult her that she wasn't patient or something nasty. He's so inconsiderate.
Can't pick up girls elsewhere meh?
Exactly! Waste people time plus I am carry my freaking laptop with me...
