As Lunar New Year is approaching many family will be stocking up on goodies and New Moon Brand of products will confirm be one of the many options available on the shelves. However as I was browsing thru the The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) I happen to see a very familiar brand and yes it is New Moon. Below is the article about New Moon Brand Premium Abalone Broth.
Goh Joo Hin Pte Ltd, importer of the New Moon Brand Premium Abalone Broth (Concentrated) (400 g can, product of Thailand) has received feedback that the product has a bad smell after the can is opened. AVA is investigating the cause of the problem. In the meantime, the company will be recalling the product as a precautionary measure.
As a precautionary measure, AVA advises consumers who have bought the implicated product not to consume them.
So if you happen to have stock this up well sad to say but you will have to put it aside till AVA is able to come out with a safe investigation report.

They shouldn't sell this in stores to avoid sales if they are still currently investigating. It'll be a waste of money if people were to stock them up and end up not eating it. Good for shop owners but not for consumers..
hi,
So nice of you to have put up this post. Thanks for highlighting :)
i've seen a lot of these in the supermarket. luckily didn't restock them. there are suddenly so much "faulty" food since the milamin case.
Since the complain only comes after someone open and discover the weird smell so maybe not all the whole product got problem.
Maybe the one who complain is the unlucky one to get one that is smelly.
