Your job is helping people securing their financial security and also planning for their retirement. From there you get compensated accordingly. It&#39;s a fair game. What&#39;s wrong with that? A good producer typically earns an income of above $100,000 a year! If you are daring and believe you should take charge of yourself, stop working for people and start doing your own biz like being an insurance agent or financial advisor. You will be rewarded handsomely if you work hard and fight beyond 2 yrs. Insurance as a career is for people with guys. I used to receive such calls over the years when i am looking for jobs. Either i turn them down or i agreed to their interview but nv attend(just to cut short their conversation). But finally, one day i attend a interview as management trainee from AIA. Well, i was at first quite skeptical of working in insurance industry, but i am also quite liberal to accept their explaination of the job. And it sound very prospective to me. I am tired of slogging over the years and earning a fix income. So this might be something for me. The manager told me that i need to study again and take exam to pass in order to qualify. So he said to arrange to pass me some books or tutorials to prepare me for the exam. Despite a few reminder to him to pass me the books, he never really pass to me since weeks after the interview. Later i also heard that insurance agent are offered very attractive allowances like up to 2k. But there is no basic pay! And the allowance is also only temporary. So one has really got to work hard the very first few mths u join in. Else you really eat grass! I do believe this line is not a scam or wat. coz i do have friend who work as a newbie to a manager post. <br /><br />So what i am angry is, they call me up for job invitation, arrange interview and i went. Short listed me. But nv follow up from there! As you know, preparing the exam and so on take probably 1-2 mths. Now, a spate of massive MRT disruptions is slowly but surely revealing this ugly truth.<br /><br />Also, overloaded trains and overly stressed train schedules certainly did not help.<br /><br />Trust me, there will be more to come. When you&#39;re on annual leave, you&#39;re compensated only based on the &quot;guaranteed&quot; (this was your word) $1k. When you go on maternity leave, you&#39;re compensated on $1k a month. When we office professionals get bonus, it&#39;s based on our monthly salary of $6k -20k whereas I know for a fact when you get bonus, it&#39;s based on your $1k salary.<br /><br />In other words, you&#39;re a low wage worker.
